Making the Switch to Iowa State Bank
At Iowa State Bank, we are committed to providing you with the best service possible. With that in mind, we have created a Switch Kit designed to help you smoothly transition your personal accounts and automated transactions to Iowa State Bank.
Our Switch Kit offers a checklist as well as step-by-step instructions on transitioning to Iowa State Bank. Here’s how to start!
1. Open your new Iowa State Bank account at one of our five convenient locations.
2. Discontinue the use of your old account. Now that you have your new account, it’s time to activate your new debit card and stop using your previous account. This will allow for outstanding checks, automatic deposits, and payments time to clear your old account.
3. Change your Direct Deposits. If you have Direct Deposits from employers or any other entity, provide them with your new routing and account number.
4. Track and organize your current finances. Create a list of all your current automatic transfers, payments, and recurring bill payments. We have included a list of common accounts that may need to be switched.
5. Change your automatic payments. Use the list you created to contact the companies with your new account information. Don’t forget to contact the companies that may use your debit card information and provide them with your new card number.
** When making online purchases, consider using a credit card to avoid jeopardizing the funds in your bank account.
6. Close old account. Once you have ensured all checks, automatic payments, and direct deposits have been deducted or credited to your new Iowa State Bank account, close your old account by calling or sending written notice to your former financial institution.
