This year marks 85 years of Iowa State Bank serving the communities we call home. It’s a milestone built on generations of trust, relationships, and shared growth, rooted in supporting families through life’s milestones, standing alongside local businesses, and helping communities thrive.

Our story began in 1941, when local business leader George O’Dea saw a need for a community bank to serve the residents of Des Moines. With five employees and one office, Iowa State Bank opened its doors and has been serving the community ever since. O’Dea’s vision has continued under the leadership of the Burgeson family, with Lauren Burgeson currently serving as President and CEO. Today, Iowa State Bank has five metro banking locations and provides Investment and Trust & Wealth Management services.

85 years is a milestone Iowa State Bank is proud to have achieved. We’re proud of the work we’ve done to help families establish strong roots in our community, to support entrepreneurs as they launch their dreams, and to partner with local businesses to support their growth and development.

For generations, we’ve been improving the quality of life in our community, and we’re just getting started. The bank’s future is focused on responsible growth, continued investment in technology, and deeper community engagement, all while staying true to the values that have defined us for 85 years.
